The Quran is the central religious text of Islam, which Muslims believe to be a revelation from God. It is widely regarded as the finest piece of literature in the Arabic language. The Quran is divided into chapters, which are then divided into verses. Each verse is then divided into letters, forming a sort of "text" within the chapter. This division is called "tajwid."
In addition to the Quran, the Muslim holy book, a number of other books have been compiled from various sources. These include books of hadith (oral histories), fiqh (jurisprudence), and useful guides.
